Sun Park is the Korean Dragon from Seoul, South Korea. At some unknown point in her life, she came to New York City and began to teach at Millard Fillmore Middle School in Home Economics. She later became Haley Long's dragon master.

HistoryEdit

Sun Park was from Seoul, South Korea, where she served as the Korean Dragon before coming to New York City. She began to teach at Fillmore Middle School as a Home Economics teacher. One of the classes that she taught had Jake, the American Dragon, and his friends as her pupils. She saw great potential in Jake despite him failing his class and offered him extra credit. She watched as he saved the school's carnival from Krylock-mutants and was pleased to know that her assumptions were correct.[1]

She later became Haley's dragon master and began to train Haley as her dragon student. Despite being rusty in training basics, she helped guide Haley through her first fight against hobgoblins where she revealed her true identity to Jake. She met with Lao Shi and Fu Dog who accompanied her and Haley in their dragon training. When Haley was later kidnapped by the hobgoblins, she and Lao Shi searched for her although it was Jake who found her.[2]

Later when Haley went through a rebellious phrase due to her being mind-controlled by the Pooka Pooka puppet, Sun and Jake worked together to save Haley and stop the Pooka, who was using his show to broadcast his mind-control spells, from creating an army of children. They arrived to the VideoGameCon where they found Haley with the rest of the Pooka fans surrounding the real Pooka puppet. The two chased the Pooka down the subway where Jake and Haley left in a train with the Pooka, leaving Sun behind to calm the crowd with a meditation exercise. When her meditation failed, she trapped the kids using a metal bar gate until the kids were freed from the Pooka's mind control thanks to Haley.[3]

When the school was planning their Homecoming dance, Sun was the one to tell Rose and Jake that they were nominated for homecoming queen and king. She attended the dance to announce the king and queen, as Jake and Rose won the two roles. But unfortunately, the Huntsclan had arrived at the Pantheon skyscraper where the dance was taking place. Sun lead the students to safety in the elevators and returned to the building's rooftop in her dragon form along with the rest of Team Dragon. She fought against the Huntsmember to keep them from placing the Aztec skulls inside the gargoyles statue's mouths, which would activate the Aztec skulls but was defeated along with the rest of the dragons. She witnessed as Rose wished for the destruction of the Huntsclan, and Jake wishing for Rose to never have been taken away by the Huntsclan. She, along with everyone else standing on the rooftop, was unaffected by the results of their wish.[4]

During the last week of the school year, both Lao Shi and Fu Dog were leaving for a Dragon Council retreat leaving Jake's dragon training under Sun's care with Haley. She was to have them review two-thousand years of Dragon Council By-laws. Later Sun gave a motivational unicorn and cell phone to Haley, and began to train her more when she became the American Dragon, stressing her. When Chang and Bananas B stole from Magus Bazaar, Sun and Haley failed to stop them. They contacted Lao Shi and Fu Dog, and were informed that Chang planned to revive the Dark Dragon by using the American Dragon's chi energy. Sun later found Jake's backpack on the sidewalk when she went to search for him. She was ordered to go after Chang with Haley by Lao Shi as he left to retrieve Jake's chi energy. Sun fought against Chang but was hurt. When Jake resumed his role as the American Dragon, she still congratulated Haley for being a great American Dragon.[5]

Sun visited Hong Kong, China, to partake in the Thousand Year Toast as it was a mandatory meeting for all world dragons. She was concerned when Lao Shi and Haley hadn't arrived yet for the toast. She was going to serve the toast until Jake offered to do it for her, although it was to secretly pour a mind-control potion given to him by the Dark Dragon. When the Dark Dragon arrived and revealed his plan, his first order was for Sun to destroy Councilor Andam to test the mind-control. Instead, Sun grew donkey ears. Jake had instead poured transformation tea into all the dragon's toast, and stood against the Dark Dragon. The Dark Dragon brought out his dark minions, making the dragons fight. During the fight, Sun and Haley both threw the sphinx net at Chang and flung her from the temple. The fight was shortened when the temple began to disappear. Sun and the rest of the dragons flew out of the temple, awaiting to see if Jake and Rose had safely made it out of the vertex. Sun cheered for the two, as the Dark Dragon was gone.[6]
